SUPEXOR - Swiss Upper Extremity Outcomes Registry

The registry
Quality of care and the constant improvement thereof are very important to us. For this reason, the hand surgery departments of the University Hospital Zürich (USZ), Cantonal Hospital Graubunden (KSGR) and the Cantonal Hospital Luzern (LUKS) all participate in the Swiss Upper Extremity Outcomes Registry (SUpExOR).
This SUPEXOR Registry enables us to measure our quality and determine how successful our treatments are. This way we can measure whether we deliver the best care possible, and improve our treatments when needed. You, as our patient, have a very important role in this registry. In the end, you are the person to best judge how the function of your hand or wrist has improved after treatment and how your quality of life has changed. This will take a little time from you, but it delivers us with very valuable information and shows us what we do well and where we could still make improvements.
Surveys
To help us measure and improve the quality of care, we ask you to participate in the SUPEXOR Registry and fill out questionnaires on various timepoints before and during your treatment in our clinics. Links to the surveys are sent via email and on our secure webpage you are able to see how many questionnaires still need to be filled out. These questionnaires are all validated scientific tools used in hand and wrist research. They focus on various aspects of the treatment. How do pain symptoms decrease after treatment? Are you satisfied with the way you can use your hands and regain confidence in daily activities? Are you able to resume all activities that you were able to do before you had problems with your hand? All the answers to these questions are used to evauate the progress of your recovery. Your doctor and hand therapist can use this information in their treatment and discuss the results with you during your visits.
