FLAPS - Outcome registry for extremity reconstruction

The registry
At the department of plastic surgery and hand surgery at University Hospital Zürich (USZ), we place great emphasis on the quality of care we provide and continuously strive to improve it. To this end, we have established the FLAPS outcome registry for extremity reconstruction.
The FLAPS Registry enables us to measure the effectiveness of our treatments and assess the quality of care we deliver. By gathering information on patient outcomes, we can determine whether we are providing the best care possible and identify areas where we can improve. As our patient, you play a crucial role in this registry. Your feedback on how your arm or leg function has improved and how your quality of life has changed after treatment is invaluable to us. While it may take some time, the information you provide is extremely valuable to us and helps us identify areas for improvement and continue to deliver high-quality care.
Surveys
To help us continually improve the quality of care we provide, we kindly ask for your participation in the FLAPS Registry. Throughout your treatment at our department of plastic surgery and hand surgery, we will ask you to complete questionnaires at various timepoints. These surveys are sent via email and accessible through our secure webpage, where you can easily track how many questionnaires remain to be completed.
All of the questionnaires we use are validated scientific tools that are commonly used in plastic surgery research. They cover a range of important topics related to your treatment, such as pain reduction, satisfaction with the use of your arms or legs, and regaining confidence in daily activities. We also assess your ability to resume all activities you were able to do prior to experiencing issues with your extremity. By collecting this information, we can evaluate the progress of your recovery.
Your doctor and physiotherapist will use the data collected from these questionnaires to tailor your treatment plan and discuss the results with you during your visits. Your input is invaluable to us, as it helps us to improve the quality of care we provide and achieve better outcomes for our patients.
